Groninger Care Agreement (GZA) day – Developments around care employment in Groningen

Last Monday, our colleague Merel had the opportunity to contribute to the Groninger Care Agreement (GZA) day. The GZA is an alliance of 18 organizations in the Groningen earthquake area.

In the Care Employment Workshop, Merel, together with Klaske Veth, Eric Zwennis, Els Groen and Marjanne Bos, discussed the developments surrounding care employment in Groningen. Figures show that by 2030 the shortage of care employees in the province of Groningen will have increased significantly. What can be done collectively to reduce this shortage? The workshop considered the opportunities that exist in the field of healthcare employment to reduce this gap. One of these opportunities lies in the joint recruitment, training and supervision of lateral entrants for and in the care sector.

Colleagues Merel and Jenneke have been involved in this over the past year. In the coming year, we will also be involved in realizing the collaborations between seven healthcare organizations and two educational institutions around lateral entry in Groningen.

Would you like to know more about what exactly we do in Groningen regarding lateral entrants? Then contact EHdK colleague Jenneke Aartsen.
