In the Netherlands, there is a target group of adults who fall between the cracks. They sometimes do not have a suitable place to live and often lack appropriate care and support. This target group often has problems in several areas, including problems in mental health, mental problems, difficult to explain behavior, addiction problems and/or problems in the field of public order, safety, welfare, participation. This target group also often comes into contact with the justice system.
It is a target group involving a large number of agencies, but also many rules and legislation. It is also clear that good alignment, coordination and cooperation of the organizations and professionals working with the target group can be of great added value for the target group. To achieve this, EHdK is involved in multiple projects and with multiple clients.
Ultimately, the goal is to concretize cooperation around the target group. This includes making insight into the challenges, a common vision and outlook, but ultimately especially the setting up of an expertise network between organizations, the development of new ambulatory forms of care in case of long waiting times for suitable housing and care places and concrete agreements between municipalities, care office and care institutions about the process of indication and care provision. EHdK supports these projects with enthusiasm, inspiration and concrete solutions where necessary.
