Launching expertise network VG & addiction

Alliade, de Zijlen, Trajectum, Vanboeijen and VNN have formed a partnership around clients with complex intellectual disabilities. These are people who, in addition to the intellectual disability, have additional problems (such as mental health problems or addiction) that result in behavior that is difficult to understand.

The five organizations want to increase knowledge and expertise for this target group in the north of the Netherlands. The first joint step in this is the creation of an expertise network VG / addiction. This is a joint network in which professionals from the five organizations are involved and can be consulted on complex cases involving addiction. They think along and give advice to the teams involved. They also develop a joint training program in the field of VG / addiction on the basis of which teams can be trained. In this way, crises and relocations of clients with addictions are prevented (in the long run).

The launch will take place on October 16 in Heerenveen and aims to inspire, explain the working methods and added value of the network, as well as increase knowledge and expertise in the field of addiction. The meeting is intended for professionals from the four organizations, but professionals from other organizations in the north of the Netherlands working with the target group are also welcome.
