Shivani works at EHdK on issues within the mental health sector, with a focus on people with Severe Psychiatric Disorder (EPA) and at the intersection of youth and safety.
From her administrative background, she is strongly interested in how social and healthcare systems are set up and what effect they have in practice. She wants to understand why systems work the way they do and how, believing that progress is possible, they can contribute to a fairer and more equitable society. Shivani uses her sharp analytical mind and perseverance to get to the bottom of complex social issues and believes that they can be solved when parties are willing to continue to work together, even if it causes friction. She prefers to work with the people themselves: administrators, professionals in the field and, where possible, clients as well.
In her free time, Shivani enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and seeking relaxation in nature, preferably among the trees.
“We cannot solve problems with the kind of thinking we employed when we came up with them.”
