The number of elderly people in the Netherlands is rising sharply in the coming years: in 2040 there will be about 40% more elderly people. An elderly person living at home in the Netherlands relies on sometimes as many as ten to fifteen different organizations, professionals and supporters who provide care, assistance or support.
Projects
Reducing waiting times in youth services
The demand for youth aid is increasing and now, combined with staff shortages and high administrative burdens, is leading to excessively long waiting times. Research by The Forgotten Child Foundation shows that young people wait on average about ten months for youth aid. These long waiting times occur especially for children who need specialized forms of youth care, such as treatment for eating disorders, admissions in case of suicidality or even foster care. This is an unacceptable situation.

Leadership program on suicide prevention for administrators in mental health and youth services
Preventing suicides is also a topic for the board table. In this program, participants explore what this means and shape their own personal role. EHdK will inspire (where necessary) and guide the participants in this process.
